Georgia and Egypt will deepen transit cooperation.
Grigol Vashadze, Minister of Foreign Affairs, made this statement after meeting with Egyptian officials.
“We have discussed economic relations with several promising directions among Georgia and Egypt with Economy and Foreign Trade Minister of Egypt. Obviously, first of all it is usage of Georgia’s transit possibilities. Our Egyptian partners have firmly decided several imports through Georgia, which they have been conducting though other countries before”, stated Vashadze.
As Mohamed Amri, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, explains that the meeting with his Georgian counterpart contained a number of topical issues of bilateral interest, including international and regional issues.
He said special attention was paid to the strengthening of economic relations.
In addition, Vashadze had meetings with head of the parliament of Egypt, Minister of foreign affairs and other officials.
Georgian-Egyptian Economic Commission will also contribute to the future relations among two countries, which is scheduled for fall this year.
