Lithuania strongly supports Georgia’s independence, territorial integrity and borders established by international treaties.

The country's Foreign Ministry said.

"The EU does not recognize the constitutional and legal grounds, based on which so called Abkhazian parliamentary elections were held. In this context, Lithuania emphasizes the Geneva international discussions on the importance of ensuring security and stability issue. Settling current conflict in Georgia might become legal bases of elections in Abkhazia "- the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry officially said in a statement.
