State Council of People's Republic of China gives Georgia tourist destination status. This information has been released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to the Ministry, this decision will significantly increase Chinese tourists’ number in Georgia. Development of tourism sector will contribute to further strengthening bilateral cooperation between Georgia and China.

It should be noted that, according to the national tourism agency, in 2011 6 522 Chinese citizens arrived in Georgia.
